I would like to tell you some details and correct something wrong in the BBC news.
Few days ago, 21 May 2014, a knife attack left 4 died and 28 injured on the Taipei MRT.
*What's Taipei MRT?
Taipei MRT(Taipei Mass Rapid Transit) is something likes subway. It's the most convenience public transportation in Taipei.
*BBC didn't update its news. 3 people died right on the spot and one died after being sent to the hospital.
The attacker was a 21-year-old undergraduate, who is studying in one famous private college in Taoyuan.
The BBC wrote he was drunk .But NO ,he didn't.
He told the police that he JUST wanted to do something big. And the reason why he chose this day only because he didn't have any class.
He took the MRT at about 4 pm here and hid the knife under his jacket.
The whole tragic happened between two MRT stations in 4 minutes. That's why so many passengers was hurt--no one could run away.
Somebody said that there was one passenger had pressed the emergency off bottom, but it's useless cause the doors couldn't be opened between two stations.
*So ,what situation that the emergency off bottoms can be useful ?
Well ,as its name ,emergence off bottom ,means you can press that bottom when a urgent thing has happened .Like this time ,the train conductor noticed the station attendants before arriving the station .In hence ,the security guard could come in time .
All the Taiwaness were shocked by this news, because it have been the first time that one person killed people indiscriminately on the MRT since it was established in 1996.
People started to connect this to death penalty, which issue that has been discussed heatedly for many years in Taiwan and still exists now.
And many are worried about that there may be many immature young people will imitate him. One had been caught the next day because he told his friend he would give the attacker a free hand of killing people on another MRT line.
Therefore, the mayors of Taipei City and New Taipei City decided to dispatch two polices to each MRT station.
*Why it's NEW Taipei City?
New Taipei City is a city that surrounding Taipei City. It were renamed five years ago. Honestly, I don't know why they renamed it by adding a NEW before Taipei City. Maybe just wanted the name was easily remembered or sounded...NEW.
What's more ,there were 740 thousands passengers lesser than before the next day .
I don't want to put any picture taken on the MRT, they are all horrible.

I don't know much about the attacker's background. Just saw some in Facebook.
He comes from a rich family and has a younger brother. All his parents are public officials.
Seems his family is happy. Not very sure .
His classmates said he doesn't have many friends in school and does not like to participate school activities. Also cannot get alone with others well in college ,but had some friends in high school .
Wait! Don't scold him first.
Let's see what leaded him do this frightening attack.
In my opinion, violent video games was the major reason.
Had you ever seem a book called Nineteen Minutes? It talks about one kid that shot his classmates and teachers in senior high school. It told me how huge can video games effect people's lives and thinking. Killing people in reality just like killing the characters in the video games.
No feeling. No regret.
Moreover, lacking of love was the minor reason.
Oh !It might sound like an old fashion. But please just recall how much love you have gotten from others since you were born, then you can understand.
Your parents ,your friends ,your lover and even your children. How much energy they have given to you when you are tired and how many times they have accompanied you when you are in the times of adversities ?
And please image what you would like if you have not had them.
In short, being deficient in love will result in terrible personalities.
In the end, I wanna tell you,
In spite of this tragic, Taipei is still one of the safest cities in the world. As you see ,there have been only one attack on the MRT since it was set up in 1996.
As the result, if you get the chance to visit my country, Taiwan, you don't need to worry any about our public security problem.
People are nice, friendly and gracious in here.
Ah! And, don't be the member of the head-down tribe anymore!
